Equipment

This is our recommendations of what to bring on safari to South Africa

  • Lightweight binoculars – preferably 7×35 or 8×32

  • Camera – don’t forget plenty of spare batteries and memory

  • Day Bag – small to medium, soft bag for carrying personal items

  • Good Flashlight – pack extra batteries a small headlamp works well

  • Soft Gun Case

  • Proper Hunting Knife an additional Leatherman or similar Multi-tool

  • Good Pair of Sunglasses

  • Miscellaneous – personal toiletries, extra eyeglasses, insect repellent, good quality sunscreen (at least SPF 30), lip balm, reading material, personal tobacco products, and any personal medication.

***Test your equipment before you pack your traveling gear – wear the clothes and stuff that you will use daily – make sure that it is comfortable and that you are able to walk quietly as in the event that you need to stalk an animal there are no unnatural sounds. make sure your boots fit well and are broken in and that you keep the color as neutral or as dark as possible no light or white.
